D35 Hydra-Cell High Pressure Coolant Pumps

Model D35 Hydra-Cell High Pressure Coolant Pump Skid

D35 Hydra-Cell high pressure coolant pumps are applied for high flow rate machine tool coolant applications within the 20 to 34 GPM range and at pressures up to 1500 PSI.  As illustrated above, they typically are installed alongside the coolant sump.

Most individual machining centers only require 3-5 GPM of coolant, therefore D35 Hydra-Cell high pressure coolant pumps are often used for a centralized coolant system, perhaps supplying coolant to 4-6 CNC machines.  Once the pressure regulating valve is set for the maximum desired pressure, the pump runs at full speed and any excess coolant not needed to provide the set pressure is bypassed back to the coolant reservoir.  The system concept is simplistic and without the need to control pump speed. As an example, if you want to operate at 800 PSI, you set the valve accordingly and when tools are changed (or machining centers brought online) the valve automatically regulates the bypassed flow to ensure a constant pressure through the tool(s).

D35 high pressure coolant pumps are sealless and thus do not require fine filtration that piston, plunger and multistage centrifugal pumps require.  In some cases those sealed designs recommend filtering your coolant as fine as 25 microns!  Filtering your coolant to that extreme can remove the very additives which reduce foaming and improve longevity.  Hydra-Cell D35 high pressure coolant pumps are protected with a 1/32" perforated screen, so your filtration level will be dictated by system components such as rotary unions.  In some cases we can replace your filter bag support basket with a mesh lined basket to eliminate filter bags altogether!

RELIABILITY

D35 high pressure coolant pumps are designed to operate continuously, minimizing downtime.  Maintenance consists of changing the oil and check valves approximately every 6000 hours of use.  Changing the oil is as easy as draining the old and pouring in 8 quarts of standard 10W30 synthetic motor oil.  Check valves are easily replaced, requiring no special tools or training and the cost is <$500.  You should be able to overhaul a D35 Hydra-Cell pump within 2 hours.

The pump system illustrated above consists of a D35 Hydra-Cell pump P/N D35EKCGHFECA, 30HP motor P/N M3000TE12F3P326TA3, pump/motor baseplate P/N 104-660 and shaft coupling P/N A04-065-1204.  The corresponding pressure regulating valve P/N is C64AABVSSNH.
