Pump/Motor
adapters
provide an innovative method to ensure positive shaft
alignment while also performing the function of a coupling
guard.
One end of the adapter is designed to bolt to
the pump body and the other to the motor. The adapter
slips over the shaft coupling mounted to both the pump and
motor shaft with the coupling sleeve locking the shafts
together.
In some cases, as illustrated above, both
the pump and motor are mounted to a baseplate.
Sometimes due to the difference in motor and pump size the
pump "hangs" from the motor via the adapter. Likewise
low pressure systems using small motors will sometimes
"hang" from the adapter and the pump will be mounted to the
baseplate. The adapter is designed to provide rigid support
for cantilevered pump mounting.
The robust design of the pump/motor
adapter is designed to provide rigid support and maintain
proper shaft alignment.

Installation Instructions
- Fasten pump/motor adapter to pump using socket-head cap screws (72) with lockwashers (73).
- Attach coupling hubs (not included in Adapter Kit), to pump and motor shafts. Slide coupling sleeve onto pump shaft coupling hub, then engage onto motor coupling hub.
- Assemble adapter to motor using hex-head cap screws (74) and lockwashers (75). IEC motors use additional lockwashers (75) and nuts (76).
- Make any adjustments to the position of the coupling hubs through the access slots in the sides of the adapter. Tighten coupling sleeve set screws.
